Lois Shirleen "Cookie, LoJo" Johnson passed away, alone,  on May 4, 2020 in a hospice facility in the southern Chicago suburbs after a valiant battle against cancer. 

Family and friends were unable to be with and comfort her for several months due to covid visitation rules.

Although Cookie was a retired school teacher, she enjoyed several occupations over her lifetime. Office worker, Chicago Police Officer, Beautician and several other 'side gigs', 

She attended Gillespie Elementary, John Marshall Harlan HS, Chicago State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, earning two Master's Degrees.

She taught in inner city schools, both public and private often providing food, clothes, supplies and mentoring to underserved students.

Lois was preceeded in death by her parents, Doris and Henry Johnson, Jr., who she cared for during their final years. Lois leaves to mourn older brother Warren Johnson, Sr. (Yvonne), younger sister Marilyn Johnson Winborn (Charles) and her "Besties" Nataleen Coleman and Peggy Burton.
